Local Relay Privacy Policy

What Local Relay collects

Nothing. Local Relay has no accounts, no sign-in, no analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising identifiers, and no network service of its own. The app does not transmit any data to Greater Than Consulting or to any third party.

Where your recordings live

Recordings are saved directly to the folder you choose on your Mac (Downloads by default). They are never uploaded, copied, or processed anywhere else by Local Relay. Deleting a recording from your Mac deletes it, period — there is no cloud copy.

Why the app asks for permissions

• Screen Recording — to capture your screen. Required for the app to function.
• Microphone — to record your narration. Only used while you are recording.
• Camera — to show the optional webcam bubble in your recordings. Only active while the bubble is on screen.

All three feeds are processed entirely on your Mac and written only into your local video files. macOS shows its own indicator whenever the camera or microphone is live.

Publishing to YouTube

When a recording finishes, Local Relay can open YouTube’s upload page in your web browser as a convenience. That is the entire integration: the app opens a web page. Any upload happens in your browser, on your Google account, under Google’s privacy policy. Local Relay never touches your YouTube credentials and never uploads on its own. You can turn this behavior off in Settings.

Children’s privacy

Local Relay does not collect data from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If a future version of Local Relay ever changes what data is handled (for example, an optional direct-upload feature), this policy will be updated first and the change will be called out in the app’s release notes.
